When the COVID-19 pandemic has ceased all activities around the world, NIT Jalandhar students outshined in the placements. 430 students got full-time employment offers from the top recruiters like Microsoft, Reliance, Trident, Honda R&D, College-Dunia. But this year had undoubtedly been the last year of things going as planned due to economic slowdown and recession.

As per media cell, this year placements reached the milestone of more than 75% of students got placed with an average package of 8.12 LPA. A package of 39.02 LPA was offered by Microsoft to CSE and ECE students.

This year saw a growth in the average package, which is 8.12 LPA as compared to 7.55 LPA last year, the highest package 39.12 LPA remained the same for both the years.  The average package for CSE came down to 11.75 LPA as compared to the previous year’s 13.12 LPA.

The highest package of 39.12 LPA was offered by Microsoft this year. ECE is not much behind as this year’s growth in the average package was seen from 9.70 LPA last year to 10.02 LPA this year. The highest package of 39.12 LPA is offered by Microsoft in ECE too. In ICE, the average package shifted to 6.48 LPA from 6.01 LPA, with the highest being 11.75 LPA by Cadence.

Talking about ME, the department recorded 100% placements with an average package of 5.88 LPA and the highest 9 LPA. This year placement percentage decreased to 74.7% but growth in average package 6.08 LPA and highest 12 LPA by Honda R&D. The Civil department transcended this year’s placement with the highest package of 12.5 LPA by Future First, and average became 6.11 LPA this year.

Other branches Like CHE, IPE, BT, TT also took up the pace with the other departments. The average packages for these branches are 5.51 LPA, 6.24 LPA, 5.34 LPA, and  6.61 LPA, respectively.  TT department did well with the highest package of 12.50 LPA from Trident.

Media Cell NITJ assured that “Nonetheless as expected the next year will be one of the most important years for the placement scenario since a humongous recession is predicted which would surely make things go a lot more different than usual, but fortunately we have an unconditional faith on our Training and Placement cell that they will not let any stone unturned in getting the best for the students.”
