Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad IIIT-A, founded in the year 1999 and tagged as a Deemed University by the Government of India in 2000 is among one of the Institutes of National Importance which is established by Act of Parliament running under MHRD. As one of the top institutes for IT, it aims to impart quality and futuristic education to the students to make them able to work excellently in the different facets of IT.
This institute has witnessed instability in rankings over last few years, improving from 90th in 2018 to 82nd in 2019 and later witnessed a huge downfall to 103rd rank in 2020 NIRF rankings. Coming on to other aspects like academics, campus-life, placements as well as facilities, the institute is rated very well in all those criteria. The College strives to increase and sharpen the skills as well as the knowledge that students receive through various curricular and co-curricular activities.
The faculties also keep themselves updated with the latest knowledge and information as well as increase the body of learning in their field of proficiency. Let’s have an overview of IIIT-A placement statistics 2020 as per official reports:-
The global slowdown and the recession that the nation is facing due to coronavirus pandemic has not proved to be a dampen for the recently concluded placement drive at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT Allahabad) as IIITA has set a new record in placements this year.
IIIT Allahabad has observed one of the best Placement in 2019-20 placement with 120+ companies visiting IIIT A campus for placement drive. In 2018-19 session too, 120+ companies visited for placement drive but the percentage of the students increased this year. Along with, there was a boom in Average and highest package too, they have also significantly increased.
Total of 96% students placed in 2019-20 session which was 95% last year. In academic years 2017-18, 2016-17 & 2015-16 too, 95% of students were placed by different companies visiting for placement drive. While no. of companies visiting has increased significantly in the last 5 years with 120+ companies for last 3 years, 103 companies visited in 2015-16 and 98 in 2015-16.
When we consider Average package, it has seen significantly improved in last 5 years. IIITA had 11.2 LPA as avg package in 2015-16 which increased to Rs 12.5 LPA in 2016-17. Similarly It increased to Rs 13.25 LPA in 2017-18 and to 15.5 LPA in 2018-19. 2019-20 placement session set new placement record with 20.83 LPA average placement, one of the highest among institutes across the nation.
Now coming to the highest package statistics,it has also shown a tremendous growth in last few academic years, increasing from 27 LPA in 2015-16 to 39 LPA 2016-17 and then continuing its growth,again increased from 36 LPA in 2017-18 to 39 LPA in 2018-19 session. Not only this, even during this pandemic, it has shown tremendous increase to 43 LPA in 2019-20 placement season.
